doing memes wrong
The meme, as seen everywhere, goes go through your last 5 fics and share the first and last line. No context. As nearly all the last fics I've written are either 250 words for Sapphic Summer, have the first-and-last lines from my five most recently crossposted-to-dreamwidth fics (links go to dreamwidth versions, as usual).
summer was come again
first: Corruption seeps into the Greenwood slowly, and into Thranduil's bones at the same pace.
last: It ought to be enough.
the black heart of magnetic north
first: Summer has come again by the time Dani notices them — grey-blue figures wavering at the edges of the long not-night that spilled in through the barn doors.
last: But she curls into Pelle's side and knows that asleep, awake, she is home, and that is what she can always return to.
bleach the skeletons of kings
first: The courier limped into port nearly six day cycles early, its hull scored with plasma burns and one engine pod trailing unhappily behind.
last: Qi'ra had always been good at improvising.
only the bravest girl
first: Michaela's the last one left in the house — the last one downstairs, the last one that matters — and Annalise waits in the doorway, vodka martini chilly against her fingers.
last: Why Michaela didn't want them to.
the surrender to the power
first: She doesn't bare her neck for anyone — never has, never will, but now, spread out on her bed with her back arched, Vanessa's knee firm between her thighs and her own knife at her throat, Blair thinks she might revisit that.
last: (Tomorrow, Serena will flip her hair, say, nice scarf, B., and it'll be too nice to be true, and Blair, silk raw against scars only she can see, won't say anything at all.)
