new year's fic reveals

Two fics for exchanges that had story reveals on New Year's Day and author reveals yesterday today.

For the reylofanfictionanthology's After The Blazing Fire Dies collection:

He lets her, though. Lets her nails rake bloody slashes down his cheeks, lets her pull his head down so her tongue can dip into the thorn-filled hollow where his eyes should have been. Used to be.

An exercise in body horror, dark!Rey, and Force Bond conversations. There were many reasons why I didn't actually do this exchange, but there are also many reasons I can never resist treating spooky when the opportunity arises. This may be the last Reylo I post for a bit, because I wanna focus on endlessness, but it was a wonderful note to pause on.


For the critmas_exchange:

The most important thing, though, is that Cassandra grows up. Delilah isn't sure there must be a de Rolo in Whitestone, when the sun falls eternally winter-weak across bodies buried three deep in secret graves, but she's not taking any chances. She will suffer the girl's hatred as she grows into a woman, she will teach the girl manners and the woman magic, and together with Sylas and Anna they will turn Whitestone from a nothing of a town full of too many graves into a city where nothing will ever be allowed to die.

I wavered for a really long time about signing up for this, as I was unmatchable as a writer for a really long time due to the fact that I'm really only fannish about campaign one and the prevalence of 'oh boy those sure are some fluffy campaign one requests that would make neither of us happy, huh friend' in the requests summary, but settiai's Cassandra/Briarwoods prompt was irresistible, and I'm so glad I ended up going for it after all.

My request for many varieties of campaign one dark femslash went out as an initial pinch hit to probably no one's surprise, but my gift was perfect:

Cassandra has many lessons to learn.

I sorta guessed my author, given that settiai had previously written me wonderful Cassandra/Delilah in femslashex and this had the same perfect kindly manipulative Delilah and the same earnest grey in-over-her-head Cassandra who doesn't know how to stop saying yes, and. Gods. It's glorious. Pls read and admire!
