intro. Call me Kimara. I'm closer to 30 than any other round age, and will only grant access to people over 18.

this journal. Occasionally a fannish space, and exchange letters, fic, and fic rec posts are the only things consistently public. Locked posts are about what I'm currently reading/watching/playing/listening to, my general feelings about Being In FandomTM (weird), mental health (bad), and whatever else happens to cross my mind (ways in which your favourite piece of media that does not have a god's corpse can acquire one for fun and profit). If I've talked about something under lock, please assume I don't want it discussed in detail in unlocked posts, mine or yours.

access. I subscribe fairly widely and for a wide number of reasons, and grant access more sparingly (usually if we know each other from elsewhere, have a good number of mutual friends, if you comment here saying you want to be friends, or you've subscribed despite me looking incredibly inactive just from public posts). Don't feel pressured to reciprocate or stay subscribed.

comments: Comments on posts - however old - are always welcome! They can be anything from five paragraphs of thought to '<3' and as loosely related to the post as you like - and don't feel like you Need to respond to every topic I touch on in a post. Feel free to chat with others in my comment threads (we are all hanging out in my living room) but don't be a dick I don't wanna do mod work on my personal journal.

elsewhere: I'm on the mod team for the AO3-based fanworks exchange everywoman, am the deeply inconsistent mod behind fanmixfest (trying to get better), run leetoltreatex whenever I feel like it, and used to mod swrarepairs. My personal fic comm is thelonelylake. I am technically still @kimaracretak.ao3, but I don't like it over there and I'm deleting all my non-exchange works as I crosspost them over here. If any archive I post works to ever gets moved to AO3 through Open Doors, do not move my works.

linking: Feel free to link back to any of my public posts from personal journals. Do not link to my posts from newsletter-type things, meta aggregators, or similar (if you're wondering if I might be cross about it, the answer is don't fucking do it). Do not link to me from or discuss me on Fanlore or any other 'fandom history' / 'fandom archiving' project, beyond mentioning me as someone who has a 'do not podfic any of my work' policy. Do not copy any of my posts, or any of my comments on other people's posts, to Fanlore or any other site. Do not link this username to other usernames I have had or may have in the future. how dw works sorta depends on what you want out of it, tbh -- but it's sort of like a very slow chat in a lot of cases? with the first posts/channel topics occasionally being very long haha

i really like that long slow chat concept, mostly because if i can't get back to it for several days it hopefully won't feel like i'm ignoring something. it allows a bit of a step-back from interaction i think
