Longer fics usually have longer first sentences? If something is horror you will often know Something Is Off from the beginning? I mostly just write post-canon fic for Under the Pendulum Sun? It is actually very funny to see 'moch diluain' and 'damaged like me' both starting with 'time, event' right next to each other. Who knows!

Been a while since I've had a 'watched [canon], went insane, have some fic' moment but here we are! Watched True Detective: Night Country, went insane, have three thousand words of time loops!

What can I prompt?
Any / relationship between two or more female characters, from any fictional canon(s). You cannot prompt rule 63. Female player characters from games where you choose the PC's gender (e.g. Mass Effect's Female Shepard) are allowed, canon alternate-universe female versions of main-universe male characters (e.g. Marvel Comics' Natasha Stark) are allowed.

How many prompts can I leave?
As many as you like, but each prompt must be its own comment.

Can I repost prompts from a previous year?
Yes.

Can I fill prompts from previous years without reposting them?
Sure, all previous posts are in the tag, and if you want people to see it you can link in this year's fills thread.

Are crossovers allowed?
Yes. Your prompt should make it clear which canons you're requesting, and which characters belong to which canons.

Is RPF allowed?
No, this fest is for fictional canons only. Fictionalised versions of real people (e.g. Anne/Sarah from The Favourite) are allowed.

Is there an underage policy?

Do fills have to be fic?
No! Fanart, fanmixes, podfic (new or with the original author's permission), or pictures of your lovingly-crocheted Rey and Phasma dolls murdering each other are all great too.

Is there an AO3 collection?
Yes, over here, though posting is not a requirement and in the commentfic meme spirit of old I encourage you to also crosspost to your personal or fic journals. You're under no obligation to gift fanworks to the prompter, and prompters are free to reject fills - this is not an exchange.

Can I use things I write for this to fill prompts in other events / combine prompts here with prompts in other events?
Yes, as long as the mods of that event are fine with cross-fills.

What makes fanworks dark?
I am borrowing darkestnightex's definition, and saying it is "anything that deals with disturbing, violent, and/or depressing themes." Sexy body horror, gory murder, psychological manipulation, noncon, extreme angst, getting together in the aftermath of one character's attempted suicide, etc are all fair game, as are dark takes on traditionally-fluffy tropes such as soulmates. If you want inspiration for Situations to put your favourites in, summerofhorrorexchange has a fun list of horror subgenres with examples.

But that means there'll be problematic fic here!

Yknow this started out as a rec post for ambiguous relationship/'secret third thing' relationship fics and then I realised how much Locked Tomb fic was on the list and I want to post this in a uhhh reasonable amount of time, so lets just go with these ones to start! One of those fics where the weight of every day that makes up their ten thousand years is so deeply, profoundly felt, and also one that leans real hard into this relationship is not nameable because it could never be named.

Hello friend, it is time for fic about ladies and I am so excited to see what you will write for me! If you want inspiration beyond this letter I am also kimaracretak, where I have a small but reflective-of-things-I-like set of bookmarks, and kimaracretak on 8tracks if you want #aesthetic musical inspiration.

I love these canons for the worldbuilding and mytharcs as well as their characters and relationships, and I am easy to please as long as you stay away from my DNWs, so don't feel like you Have to write any of my specific prompts. Don't read anything into relative lengths of sections, I am equally happy to get something for anything in this letter! Some of these prompts are reused from old letters, and if you have written them for me before, rest assured that I loved your fic, I am simply greedy and would like to see every possible take on my favourite scenarios. Though I've loads of specific dark- & smut-focussed likes, don't feel obliged to pull from those lists. That being said, I'm extremely not into plotless/conflictless fluff, and would prefer you avoid it.

I love everything from short introspection bits to long plotty missionfic to sex scenes as ways to explore character/setting/worldbuilding. I'm here for the horror and while I'm generally open to any f/f in the background or foreground of fics and have some shippy prompts, I'm not really expecting it here! Where it is prompted for, I don't need a lot of romance in my ships: sex for power, manipulation, on the weird platonic-romantic-maybe-I-just-want-to-be-you line, or between friends who want to have fun is great.

General: So an Ashley + Anjali + Laura + Robbie table was never going to do anything but bring me deep joy, but add in eldritch detective stories as a frame plot and I am just SO happy. I love this world, I love this game system, I love these players and I love their characters.

General: [Lie] I'm normal about how much I love this show (<--I watched this show like five times in two weeks). I love how it flips so many Scandinoir tropes while retaining the core of trying is important even when it's not enough, but you do have to try, I love how much it loves women and loves letting them love each other (in so many imperfect, messy, heartfelt, nonromantic ways), I love that so much of the absurdities that its comedy draws from are so, well, grounded in reality in a way that makes it very easy for it to be serious when it needs to be. The one thing I don't wholeheartedly love is the epilogue ('do you not know my name?' is a little too far on the funny side imo, and I really wanted Skye + Dulcie friendship repair) so if writing postcanon stuff feel free to ignore it.

General: Back to embarrassing myself as Ana in Chateau Guillard deathmatches so back to requesting the old favourites! I am up to date with canon, but am happy for you to cherry-pick bits and pieces, or treat most of the specifics as a suggestion. I am equally happy with pre-Fall and post-Fall fics. For Amélie ships, I have no preference if fic is set when she's Amélie or Widowmaker or both, and I also don't have a preference for never-married-to-Gerard!AUs vs pining/infidelity/open marriage. If Mercy's relevant to your fic, I am happy to see dark!Mercy as well as Overwatch!Mercy. Leaning into the body horror aspects around Ana's missing eye encouraged (I have a special love for flowers growing in the empty eye socket) but not required. If you want to address the age gaps in Ana ships, I really love how comfortable Ana is in her own skin, with her own age (even/especially her missing eye) and how that contrasts with her mixed feelings about what she's done, so anything that highlights that would be lovely.

General: I cannot believe how long I spent ignoring these books because I thought the 'lesbian necromancers in space' tagline sounded silly when in fact these are some really excellent cosmic horror about how god's a jerk who needs to get shoved in a locker and also there's murder and the ghosts of dead planets and Vampire: The Masquerade's diablerie-as-devotion?? Hello hi I am in love. I am, as you may have guessed, very much here for the 'oh there is something deeply wrong with you (affectionate)' necros, and the plots to kill god, and the strange obsessive devotion that is Lyctorisation/murder/wearing other people's skin as a costume with which to kill god, the ways in which traditional romantic love is deprioritised, the whole 'love is horror and immortality is horror and everything that matters is horror' deal. I've not read Nona because I'm sulking over not getting either Abigail or Mercy in it, so please nothing that relies too heavily on Nona canon.

Note: I consider both 'canon-typical chomping in service of Lyctorisation' and 'canon-typical hanging out in a River bubble' exceptions to my character death DNW. For Abigail ships, I prefer Magnus either alive and fine (or implied-fine) with whatever Abigail's getting up to or Magnus eaten for Lyctor!Abigail AUs - I'm not as fond of the regular!dead Magnus + regular!alive Abigail combination.

Fandom-specific DNW: More-than-background Gideon or Gideon/Harrow, referring to the Fifth as 'parents' or explicitly placing them in a parental role (references to their canonical guardianship/influence over the Fourth is fine), the Fifth being characterised as 'normal' compared to other necro/cav pairs.

General: Witcher books my beloved ... I don't wholly recommend them but I do love them. As these are Tissaia-centric requests - and, I'm gonna be completely honest, requests for either pre-canon fic or Tissaia lives!AUs - you can probably get by with just Time of Contempt. I've played all three games and enjoyed them, so feel free to use elements of them. If using game canon, please use the events of Yaevinn's path from Witcher 1, Iorveth's from Witcher 2, and Philippa killing Radovid in Witcher 3 (and yknow I'd not say no to Sabrina and Sheala both surviving, if I've not already gone too far in the realm of hypotheticals). Background Philippa/Sheala and Yennefer/Triss both loved. Anyway! Sorceresses whose love for each other matters soso deeply even if it cannot persist through the events of the world. I love them. I think they should live. I love both these ships, so please feel free to include both if you do as well (but even if you don't, please don't use the fact that you're writing one to devalue/completely shut down the possibility of the other - Tissaia has two hands dot meme).
