Hey hollowbolding remember years ago when you asked me for a Maven/Astrid mix and it took me years more to make it guess what I remembered today. Crossposted from tumblr bc, let's be real, I am gonna delete that blog way before I ever delete anything here.

Songs for Maven going through the mechanics of rule because it is something unchanging, something that she knows, and the routine is almost enough to drown the constant refrain of the world is changed the world is fallen (but this has not, and I am not, and she will not acknowledge the lie), and for Astrid free-falling from her patron, staring to the sky with eyes blurred with the ashes of all the times the Brotherhood and burned and risen and burned again, knowing that it is time for fire now if she is to have any chance at keeping her family safe because the world is changed the world is fallen (but the fire is taken from her, and her family is not safe).

songs for the queen of hell and her high priestess. have i seen season 2? no. am i looking forward to putting myself through season 2? questionable! i asked hollowbolding for song advice and they said 'anything about watching your terrible husband be ignominiously murdered by his children and taking his place to serve your queen who has incidentally also fucked over her terrible husband to take his place', and — i tried. probably there is less murder and more general figuring-out-lust-and-divinity-and-service-without-any-boys than is ideal.

So now that smutswap author reveals have happened (ao3 bugs notwithstanding), which means I can post this! I wrote as now devotion will unfold for lionessvalenti, my first foray into writing Padmé/Sabé. This led to a longer title-hunt than usual, and by the time I found one, I had effectively enough songs for a fanmix. I did some refining of order and so on, and now: a fanmix, ten songs about mirroring and loving and leading a revolution. It's not necessarily a smutty mix in and of itself, but it's a collection of some of the themes and character beats I was trying to keep in mind when I was writing.
