General: Gods, this show has so many beautiful things to say about love and loss and grief and I just want to dwell in it a while longer. I interpret Chrissie has having been in love with Stevie but not having recognised/admitted it even to herself until after she'd died, and my prompts do stem from that interpretation - I would love a story that's both Chrissie/Stevie and Chrissie/Rosa - but if you want to do an AU where there's some element of requited-ness that's great. Permanent death for Stevie as per canon is fine here.

General: Listen I'll fight Sally Wainwright in the Tesco's car park for many reasons, but this messy show about messy people is so close to my heart, and I'd love anything about these women and their relationships. I love all sides of the Julie-Gill-Janet-Rachel square, so fic combining exploring other aspects of those relationships (e.g. Gill/Julie + Janet/Rachel, past Gill/Janet + present Janet/Rachel, Janet/Rachel + Rachel & Gill) is super encouraged. I've read and enjoyed all three books - use book canon or not as you like. I strongly prefer fic that pretends Rachel/Kevin didn't happen the way it did - Rachel and Janet can still fall out over something else, references to Kevin leaking information are fine, but I'd rather you ignore the rest.

General: This is not so much a Shirley Jackson biopic as it is a movie about a Shirley Jackson novel about Shirley Jackson's life. It's on Hulu and I HIGHLY recommend it, because 'two women the world is entirely unprepared for kneeling next to each other in the forest playing sensual mind games over dubiously poisonous mushrooms' is Extremely Made For Me Shit, and I suspect it might be a draw for some of you as well. Everyone is some shade of awful. At least one person is dead (the movie is about the time Shirley was writing Hangsaman). There's a scene on a porch swing that's just A Whole Lot. Please watch this movie and scream with me about it!

Mods, you had two things in your 2021 policy that could lead to a ban: writing a DNW, or harrassment/abuse. So did the pinch hitter violate a DNW by using a fandom tag that contained a DNW'd character name, which is an absolutely bonkers interpretation of a DNW and one you have a responsibility to make clear to *all* participants before banning? Or was the writer an abusive, harrassing dick to mods in email, in which case - maybe I am naive - but I feel like I, as a fellow mod who did ask you flat-out what was going on and whether I need to be wary of this person signing up to my exchanges, deserve the basic courtesy of a heads-up.

I am going to do *you* the basic courtesy of not telling tales of DMs outside of school. But I am going to say that I have seen zero evidence of the second.

Reading all comments, deeply appreciate all that's been said so far, cannot promise I have the bandwidth to reply to everything.

- Allowing participants who DNW a character to claim that a fandom tag that includes that character name is a DNW violation is extremely questionable. If you're going to do that, you better make damn clear in your rules that any use of a fandom tag implies that everything in that fandom is canon.

- In general, banning participants for tagging a specific fandom, when the content of the work does not include DNW'd characters, ships, or elements and the canon itself was not DNW'd, is bonkers, if not outright bad.

- If you request MCU Pepper/Natasha, DNW Tony Stark, and cannot handle your creator tagging their work 'Iron Man (Movies)', you have no business requesting MCU Pepper/Natasha. If you do request it anyway in one of my exchanges, and your gift is tagged 'Iron Man (Movies)', reject it and move on, I will not do anything about it.

- If you request MCU Pepper/Natasha and DNW your creator tagging their work 'Iron Man (Movies)' that is a bad-faith DNW and I will not enforce it in any exchange I mod.

General: This is a standalone novel about five women in an MFA program, and the ways in which they are wonderful-terrible to each other and regular-terrible to the men they create out of animal corpses. General: CtL is the tabletop game of my whole entire heart and I just want to live in that world a bit more! I have a slight preference for stories set in Arcadia or the Hedge, but absolutely will not say no to Earth-set ones. Sourcebook-wise, I am most familiar with Dancers in the Dusk, Winter Masques, and Night Horrors. I especially love oneiromancy and am super weak for stories that contrast the deep sense of place/setting with changelings' very tenuous sense of self. I'm always here for body horror, but for this canon especially - when in doubt, lovingly cut someone's eyes out and replace them with flowers and/or gems. Adhere as strictly or loosely to game mechanics as feels right for your story.

General: I am several years late BUT I love this terrible demon lady who just wants to be (re)written into existence so she can do terrible things. This is extremely fun pretty horror told non-linearly and partially-fictionally. I love almost all of it, ending excepted, and I want more! I'm open to adding Marianne to any of the 'x/Emma' ships, especially with Marianne possessing the other woman. I'm happy with unhappy/not-together-by-the-end/one-sided/closer-to-& takes on any of these ships, and my character death DNW is waived for this canon.

Note: I'm fine with references to canon noncon, but would like a canon divergence so Emma doesn't end up pregnant.

General: This show has a thesis of 'why be a girl when you could be an eldritch horror instead' because it loves me. I love the bonds and the backstabbing and the love-through-horror, I love the changeling girls and the amount of respect it gives stories of self-creation. I love the contrast between the suffocating boarding-school atmosphere and the equally terrifying 'I would like to let the sky eat me' of the Rock and how that's reflected in the characters' emotional relationships. Permadeath of any of the requested characters is fine for this fandom, as is ambiguous/show-consistent explanations of what happened at the Rock. The show does so much excellent work with forests that probably want to eat you/nature which tries to eat you/nature which wants to crawl inside you and never come out and I want to see infinitely more of it!

I was not wholly sold on the supernatural aspects of it, so this canon especially I would love to see a Changeling: The Lost or Vampire: The Requiem AU, to see what other supernatural things would look like with these characters and their pasts.

Fandom-specific DNW: Anyone but Sylvia as the single post-1x06 cult surviver. If you want to fiddle with things so that e.g. only Kendrick dies, go for it, but if you stick with the four deaths, I want Sylvia to be the one who made it out.

General: Clockwork Fairyland! What is there not to love? This weird little book snuck into my life and ruined me in the best way possible and I would love to be further ruined by any fic you write! General: Witchy murderforest of my whole entire heart and all the women and girls it loves! This show has so many beautiful things to say about love and care and loss and obsession and it's eaten me as surely as Silverhojd has eaten Josefine. Tell me stories about witches and women and love and life and forests and I will be so, so happy. I would be totally happy with gen, but I ship Eva/Jeanette, Eva/Klara, Eva/Laila, Eva/Zara, Laila/Zara, Esme/Linus, and Esme/Maja, if you want to write something shippy. I headcanon Linus as nonbinary, but don't feel beholden to that if you involve him in fics. I watched Requiem because I was in the mood for low-brain low-investment pretty horror. I did not particularly care for quality of anything beyond 'Sian Reese-Williams having feelings' and 'lingering shots of the gloomy Welsh countryside'. I had very low expectations, which were met and in some cases exceeded - this was exactly what I wanted to watch this week - but gods does the very central key of this show bug me.

Requiem is the six-part story of accomplished cellist Matilda Gray travelling to (fictional) Penllynith, because she's looking for answers after her mother kills herself in front of her eyes, and also someone is desperate for us to know who in the cast has Welsh by making them all say 'Penllynith' once an episode. It's a story about identity, and not-so-haunted houses, and less about the ways in which a landscape holds onto its people than it had told me it would be. It's sort of maybe a story about what happens to you when a parent dies and you realise they've been keeping secrets, but that thread is only occasionally picked up and it's a bit dull when it is there - self-discovery and self-creation set against the broader backdrop of history is more successful than specific parenting stories. It's a story with which Kris Mrksa has achieved the impossible: he has created a show that made me say 'D'you know what? The non-supernatural AU is better.'

I decided to watch this fully aware that snickfic was saying "I enjoyed it while watching but I don't recommend it", and I hit play on episode 1 thinking "I am so fucking homesick that I'll probably love this wholeheartedly no matter how bad it is". (Un?)expectedly, I ended up thinking it was both much better and much worse than I had thought it would be.

General: I want to say something intelligent about this show but I'm extremely 'no thought head Birgitte and Hanne and Katrine' about it. I've requested both & and / versions of all these combinations, and I will truly be happy with whichever version you choose to write. Feel free to combine them as well - I'd be delighted by, say, Birgitte/Katrine & Hanne. AUs where Birgitte wins at the end of season 2 are always welcome for any of these prompts.

Note: Referenced/past Birgitte/Phillip and Kasper/Katrine are fine. I'd prefer if you pretended Birgitte/Jeremy never happened, even if we didn't match on one of my / ships for Birgitte.

Fandom-specific DNW: Contemporary European political landscapes in futurefic. I like futurefic, I have some prompts for it, but if you go for something set closer to now than 2013, I'd like a Denmark that was kept more thoughtfully & compassionately to the left because of Birgitte's politics, a UK that didn't leave the EU, that sort of thing (this does not apply to American politics - keep them as is or go alt-history as you wish).

General: Witchy murderforest of my whole entire heart and all the women and girls it loves! This show has so many beautiful things to say about love and care and loss and obsession and it's eaten me as surely as Silverhojd has eaten Josefine. Tell me stories about witches and women and love and life and forests and I will be so, so happy. In addition to requested ships, I also ship Eva/Jeanette, Eva/Zara, Laila/Zara, Esme/Linus, and Esme/Maja, if you want to include them. I headcanon Linus as nonbinary, but don't feel beholden to that if you involve him in fics. If you're writing post-s2 fic, I strongly prefer resurrected Klara or canon divergence so that she never died, but you can also just not mention her.

General: *Shows up a year late with coffee to yell about how great the demon lady is*. This is extremely fun pretty horror told non-linearly and partially-fictionally. I love almost all of it, ending excepted, and if you're in the mood for horror you should check it out on Netflix! Character death DNW waived for this fandom. I'm also happy with unhappy/not-together-by-the-end/one-sided/closer-to-& takes on any of these ships.

Note: For my pregnancy & noncon DNWs, I'm fine with references to canon noncon, but would like a canon divergence so Emma doesn't end up pregnant.
